Our Teachers

Mrs. Rodriguez teaches our younger students in grades TK through 2nd grade. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Grand Canyon University and is passionate about helping children grow academically, spiritually, and socially. As a lifelong member of the Indio Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church, Mrs. Rodriguez values Christ-centered education and strives to create a caring classroom where students feel supported, safe, and inspired to learn. Her goal is to help students become not only successful learners but also thoughtful individuals who treat others with respect and reflect Christ’s love in their daily lives. She believes that learning should be fun and meaningful, especially for young learners, and works to foster an environment where every child feels supported and encouraged.

Mrs. Garcilazo teaches our older students in 3rd through 8th grades. She comes to us with over a decade of experience in Adventist education, this dedicated Christian educator has a rich background in both classroom teaching and administrative roles. Recently relocating to the desert, she is eager to bring her passion for learning and faith-based instruction to her new community. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes a holistic approach, integrating academic excellence with spiritual growth. She believes in fostering a nurturing environment where students can thrive both intellectually and personally. Committed to inspiring the next generation, she looks forward to making a positive impact in her students’ lives.
Our Administrative Staff

Mrs. Fernandez is our Administrative secretary. She is the warm and welcoming face of the school office. She skillfully manages daily operations with grace and efficiency. She handles all the phone calls, internet emails and many of the business items that come into the school. Known for her kind spirit and attention to detail, she supports teachers, students, and families alike, reflecting the school’s Christian values through her patience, professionalism, and servant-hearted attitude.

Ms. Raina is our after-school care supervisor. She oversees the after-school program with care and enthusiasm, creating a safe and nurturing environment where students can study, play, and grow. Her gentle guidance and cheerful presence help each child feel valued while upholding the school’s commitment to Christian character and community.

Ms. Dolly is our Janitor. She is the one who keeps the premises of our building clean and fresh, ready for any misadventure. She has been a devoted helper in many roles over the years. In fact, she has now completed over 22 years at DAA. Helping generations of children learn the caring spirit of Christ.

As we begin this new school year at Desert Adventist Academy, I am filled with excitement and immense gratitude for the incredible team of educators God has brought together.
